Indië-herdenking - Indie commemoration

De heer Jaquet hijst de vlag bij het monument. In verzorgingstehuis Rumah Kita in Wageningen wordt de jaarlijkse Indië-herdenking gehouden. Op 15 augustus 1945 capituleerde Japan, maar vlak daarna begon de bersiap periode in voormalig Nederlands-Indië. Met de herdenking wordt stil gestaan bij de roerige tijd, waarbij veel Indo's het land moesten verlaten.

Residents of the nursing home for Dutch-Indonesian people Rumah Kita in Wageningen are attending a commemoration for the capitulation of Japan at the Indonesian war. After the war ended a new era started, where most of the Euro-Indonesian people had to leave the country.
