Een klomp wordt uit één stronk gemaakt. De grootte van de stronk bepaalt de klompmaat. Produktie bij de grootste klompenfabriek ter wereld, Klompenfabriek Nijhuis B.V. in Beltrum. Voor de productie van klompen worden speciale en zelf ontwikkelde machines gebruikt. Hoewel het principe al erg oud is, worden de productietechnieken nog steeds verbeterd.
