Bij het calamiteitenhospitaal in Utrecht worden slachtoffers van grote rampen als eerste behandeld. Afhankelijk van de ernst van de verwonding, wordt het slachtoffer ingedeeld in rood, geel of groen. Het hospitaal is uniek in Europa en is gevestigd in de voormalige atoombunker onder het UMC Utrecht. At the basement of the UMC Utrecht a special hospital for emergency and major incidents is based. Patients are being labelled by number and depending on the injuries they will be transported to the zone red, yellow or green.

Op het Domplein in Utrecht wordt een klok gegoten dat door de Utrechtse Klokkenluidersgilde wordt geschonken aan het Academiegebouw van de Universiteit Utrecht ter gelegenheid van hun 375 jarig bestaan in 2011. Het is voor het eerst sinds eeuwen dat weer een klok in het openbaar wordt gegoten. De klok gaat Anna Maria (genoemd naar de eerste vrouwelijke student aan de universiteit, Anna Maria van Schurman) heten en is gemaakt van brons. For the first time in centuries a bell is being casted publicly at the Domplein in Utrecht. The 100 kg bronze bell is a present of the Utrecht Bell-ringing Guild to the University Utrecht which is celibrating its 375 year's anniversary in 2011. The bell is named Anna Maria after the first female student of the university.

Ieder jaar komen goths uit heel Europa naar Utrecht voor het festival Summer Darkness. Tijdens het festival kunnen de bezoekers genieten van gothic muziek, een markt, een modeshow en uiteraard elkaar weer zien. Every year goths from all over Europe gather around at the Summer Darkness. During the festival they can enjoy gothic music, go to a special market, seeing a fashion show and off course meeting each other.

3500 nieuwe studenten doen mee met de Utrechtse Introductie Tijd (UIT). De studenten van de Universiteit Utrecht en de Hogeschool Utrecht maken onder andere kennis met elkaar, de stad en de studiefaciliteiten. Tijdens de UIT moeten de nieuwe studenten ook allerlei opdrachten uitvoeren. 3500 new students are participating in the Utrecht Introduction Time (UIT). During the event they will meet each other and learn amongst others more about the town and the facilities. At UIT the freshmen have to fulfill some quests.

Tijdens het WK en het EK voetbal kleurt Nederland helemaal oranje. Maar ook in het dagelijks leven kunnen we niet zonder die kleur. During the World and European Championship soccer The Netherlands turns into a complete orange nation. But in our daily live we love that colour too.
